The physics of this phenomenon are really quite simple. Traditional
sealed units are manufactured using four different components including a metal spacer bar
to determine the gap between the two pieces of glass.
This metal bar readily conducts the heat temperature from the inside to the
outside resulting in a temperature drop and potential condensation.
Swiggle on the other hand is
manufactured using a reinforced polymer compound with a very low thermal conductivity.
This forms a highly effective thermal barrier between the two pieces of glass.
Traditional sealed units because of the increased edge stress
encouraged by the continual cold bridge can break their seal prematurely necessitating
window repair or replacement.
Swiggle-Seal units have a substantial reduction in edge stress
which will enhance service life.
